摘要

We have examined the response of three commercial thick film resistor sys¬tems to the application of square, high voltage pulses of varying width and height. Other variables examined included pulse number, pulse polarity, and resistor temperature. During the H.V. pulse, changes in resistor conductance are frequently seen;we discuss these changes and relate them to the altera¬tions of resistor conductance observed after the end of the pulse. We also have observed that the resistor conductance, G, is a function of time after an ap¬plied pulse. In many cases G accurately follows the logarithm of time for 6 decades in time — with surprisingly little temperature dependence of this pro¬cess upon temperatures from 76 K to 400 K. Because of this slow decay of con¬ductance, defining a permanent conductance change becomes a rather arbitrary matter. We have chosen the conductance value 100 seconds after the end of the pulse for experimental convenience.
