Time Evolution of the Energy Spectrum of Alfven Waves Due to the Non-Linear Landau Damping

By solving exactly the Lifshitz-Tsytovich equations, time evolution of the energy spectrum of Alfven waves due to the non-linear Landau damping is investigated. It is shown that, irrespective of its initial value (from 1 to infinity), the index of the power law spectrum tends immediately to concentrate on a narrow region between 1.5 -- 2, and afterward it approaches slowly the final value 1. The energy decreases monotonously to a certain stationary value. These features are compatible with the observations of Alfven waves in the solar wind. (Atomindex citation 09:366767)
