摘要

We studied the feasibility of developing a miniature carbon dioxide sensor that would accurately detect fluctuations in ambient CO2 concentrations of less than 1 ppm (v/v). The sensor would have a frequency response of 100 Hz. The sensor element envelope would have a total 3 volume of less than 100 cm with an instrument input power drain of less than 3 W. The principle of measurement would be that of a dualwavelength infrared monochromator spectrometer measurement with 3.9and 4.25-ym center frequencies and a 0.1-ym bandwidth. The sample area would be an open-sided, multiple-pathn3 cell of 4 cm volume (2x2x1 cm) protruding from one end of the sensor package.
