THE ECONOMICS OF ADOPTING SOLAR PHOTOVOLTAIC ENERGY SYSTEMS IN IRRIGATION

摘要

An economic analysis concerning the adoption of solar photovoltaic energy systems in irrigation has been made compared to conventional fossil fuel energy sources. The basis for this analysis is presented along with a discussion as to the time of initial profitability, the time of optimal invest¬ment, the effects of the tax system, the cost per acre that would make irri¬gation unviable, and possible governmental incentives that would promote the deployment of photovoltaic irrigation systems between the time of initial profitability and the time of optimal investment.
