Automatic Fire Hydrant Valve Development.

摘要

The development of a remotely-controlled valve to operate a fire hydrant is described. Assembled from off-the-shelf components,the prototype illustrates that a valve light enough to be handled by one man is possible. However,it does not have the ruggedness or reliability needed for actual fire-fighting operations. Preliminary testing by City of Tacoma fire department personnel indicates that the valve may indeed contribute significantly to fire-fighting efficiency. (ERA citation 01:024094)
