Separation of sigma/sub L/ and sigma/sub T/ in eta- Electroproduction at the Resonance S sub 11 (1535)

The ratio R = sigma/sub L//sigma/sub T/ of longitudinal and transverse cross sections for the reaction ep implies epeta at the resonance S sub 11 (1535) was measured at momentum transfers q exp 2 = 0.6 and 1 GeV exp 2 . The transverse part dominates the longitudinal part of the cross section. Averaging from W = 1.49 GeV to W = 1.58 GeV, we obtain R = 0.15 +- 0.18 at q exp 2 = 0.6 GeV exp 2 and R = -0.06 +- 0.16 at q exp 2 = 1 GeV exp 2 . (Atomindex citation 09:381398)
