YSTEMS STUDY OF FUELS FROM SUGARCANE, SWEET SORGHUM, SUGAR BEETS, AND CORN VOLUME IV:CORN AGRICULTURE Final Report Task 77

摘要

The primary objective of the research program is to suggest methods to derive fuels economically from corn, determine the potential feasibility of the alternative methods, and to suggest means to achieve feasibility for the more promising candidate processes. An assessment of the relative attractiveness of corn and sugar crops was made.nThe scope of the research program includes investigation of agricultural production methods for corn grain, corn silage, and new production methods. Processing by both thermal and biological methods are within the scope, as is processing to obtain coproducts that could increase the economic attractiveness of fuels from corn ventures. The economic and environmental impacts of alternative fuels concepts are included in the scope of this research program. However, no laboratory investigations have been conducted in this systems study.
