Sun-Following Pyrheliometer Mounts for Insolation Data Collection

摘要

The problems of insolation measurements in support of a solar photovoltaic energy program are discussed. The design and development considerations, both mechanical and electrical, are given for the first two mounts in the program. A brief description of the astronomical sun-tracking problem is provided. The design of a mount and control system specifically tailored to the gathering of insolation data using a pyrheliometer is presented. (ERA citation 04:007667)
