Damage Resistance of Coated Optics for Pulsed CO sub 2 Lasers

摘要

The influence of various factors on the damage threshold of coated optical components used in high-power, pulsed CO sub 2 lasers is reviewed. The factors considered are substrate roughness and polishing defects, coating defects, linear absorption, deposition parameters, standing-wave electric fields, pulsewidth dependence, multiple-shot conditioning, and optical performance. Experimental results of many researchers are used to illustrate the discussions. (ERA citation 03:045166)
