Tesla RPP 16 Computer Special Hardware and Utility Software for Experimental Process Control of the A1 Power Plant Reactor

The TESLA RPP 16 computer is used for A-1 reactor experimental control. Special hardware and application software are being developed for this purpose. The interface for digital measurement of the positions of the scram, control and compensating rods consists of a system of signal measurement and transfer from the selsyn transmitter via special cables over a distance of 150 m to the power plant control room. The neutron power measurement system consists of a digital section connected to the RPP 16 computer and of an analog section used for testing the digital section function or for independent neutron power measurement. For process control of the reactor by the RPP 16 computer, application software was developed allowing to indirectly measure A-1 reactor parameters, such as reactivity, period, coolant flow, and thermal output.
