Program for Automatic Evaluation of Single Full Energy Peaks in gamma Spectra

A method for the evaluation of the background by a fitting procedure not yet published is described. The counts are repeatedly fitted to a regression line from which the points which are too high are omitted in each new fit. The limits of a peak are given by the intersections of the smoothed amplitude of a peak and the background obtained. The peak area is evaluated by the ''total peak area'' method. The error of the values obtained is evaluated by the ''propagation of errors'' technique. (Atomindex citation 10:438429)
