Microscopic, Semi-Realistic Interactions for Both Light- and Heavy-Ion Scattering

A review is given of the use of nucleon--nucleon effective interactions, or G-matrices, derived from realistic nucleon--nucleon forces and applied to the scattering of both light and heavy ions. Particular attention is paid to the usefulness of simple representations of these interactions. It is shown that they are remarkably successful in describing the data for both elastic and inelastic scattering. 39 references. (ERA citation 04:024872)
