A central station test facility (CSTF) would be used to test various photovoltaic array designs,system configurations,and operational modes. In order to define the requirements of the CSTF,both electric utilities and photovoltaic manufacturers have been surveyed to determine their needs. The major criteria that will lead to a CSTF design to best satisfy the needs of the electric utilities,photovoltaic manufacturers,and the National Photovoltaic Program Plan are presented.
