摘要

An innovative approach was taken to analysis of shale gas production from the Cottageville Field of Jackson County,West Virginia. Slickensides were generally considered to be compaction features,but analysis clearly shows that most are related to regional tectonics. Regional analyses and possible ramifications of this discovery to the Eastern Gas Shales program are discussed. (ERA citation 04:025485)
