Spectral Transformations for Nonsymmetric Half-Plane Filters

Some aspects of the theory of spectral transformations were extended to include nonsymmetric half-plane filters. Unfortunately, the results are not so satisfying as those for quarter-plane filters. Spectral transformations are shown to be useful in only two special cases. One is more important and useful because it is a simple extension of the quarter-plane case: given any first-quadrant stable quarter-plane transfer function, one can substitute arbitrary stable nonsymmetric half-plane all-pass functions, and the resulting nonsymmetric half-plane transfer function will always be stable.
