Some Issues in Planning and Evaluating Social Welfare Agency Training

This monograph is addressed to the welfare manager or administrator who will selectively use what (s)he reads as one source of ideas in constructing his/her own strategy of decisions about what kinds of staff development and training programs and activities (s)he should spend money on and for whom (s)he should spend it. It is an overview of concepts and operating issues relating training to work and a utilization guide to focus research-based Information and theory that may be helpful in resolving these issues to the benefit of the work organization. It is not a utilization manual or instruc¬tion. It may contain some ideas which the manager can integrate with her/his own knowledge to inform future decisions. Ultimately, all knowledge and all decisions are personal.
