AERIAL RADIOMETRIC AND MAGNETIC SURVEY WALKER LAKE NATIONAL TOPOGRAPHIC MAP CALIFORNIA AND NEVADA

The specific area of this report as outlined on Figure 1 was surveyed from an aircraft using large-volume radiation detectors with as-sociated airborne electronic equipment. Each map line was flown in an eastwest direction with an average length of 109 miles and each tie line was flown in a north-south direction with an average length of 69 miles.nThe geology of the Walker Lake Map Sheet may be divided into two physiographic provinces (Fenneman, 1931). In the west the Sierra Nevada Mountains predominate whereas in the central and eastern part of the map sheet the Basin and Range Province predominates.
