摘要

Detailed characterization of nuclear waste forms is necessary if subsequent behavior in thermal, aqueous and radiation fields is to be understood. This paper describes the results of detailed studies of the physical properties of a complex polycrystalline titanium-based ceramic developed as an alternative to borosilicate glass for solidification of high level liquid nuclear wastes. Microstructure, phase relations, and thermal stability are described. (ERA citation 04:021762)
