Socioeconomic Impact Assessment: A Methodology Applied to Synthetic Fuels

As techniques for environmental analysis have matured, increasing attention has been paid to socioeconomic impacts of large-scale programs and individual projects. This report presents the methodology for projecting socioeconomic impacts that was used in a programmatic environmental impact statement for synthetic fuels. It also contains a summary and synthesis of the socioeconomic assessment contained in that environmental impact statement. This report should be useful to individuals, and to Federal, state and local officials concerned with the social and economic consequences of large-scale projects, such as those related to energy development.
