Finite Element Models for Simultaneous Heat and Moisture Transport in Unsaturated Soils

摘要

A finite element model for use in the analysis of transport processes in arid site vadose zones is described and demonstrated. The numerical model is designed to provide detailed simulations of the interactions between climatic conditions and natural moisture movement in a dry soil system. The theoretical framework of the models considers processes of coupled heat and moisture transport, soil-atmosphere interactions, and spatially varying soil properties. (ERA citation 03:055854)
