Engineering and Economic Summary Evaluation of High Angle Auger Coal Mining Systems and Equipment

This report is the result of a study conducted from October 1978 to June 1979. The objective of the study is to quantify and characterize steeply pitching coal reserves and to develop and evaluate high angle augering systems capable of extracting signifi¬cant amounts of these reserves. The study proposes a concept for a high angle auger¬ing system capable of exploiting the vast reserves available on pitches ranging from 25 to 90 degrees.
