We report dielectric measuremeats as a function of temperature and frequency in single crystal K2OaCl6 with defects containing protons. The results are consistent with a model which assumes the defect state to be a simple interstitial proton which is hydrogen bonded to the nearest neighbor chlorine ions. We find for temperatures greater than 108 K that proton diffusion is thermally activated with a mobility of 10-2 cm2/V-sec whereas below this temperature it is determined by quantum tunneling between localized stases.
