EVALUATION OF POTENTIAL GEOTHERMAL WELL-HEAD FLOW SAMPLING AND CALORIMETER METHODS

The objective of this study was to evaluate, select, and conceptually design calorimeter sys¬tems that could potentially permit economical, re¬liable and accurate measurements of the enthalpy of multiphase fluids at geothermal well heads. This study identified seven candidate calorimeter methods to obtain well-head enthalpy measurements:n• regenerative heat exchangern• single-pass heat exchangern• mixing tee condensern• pressurizer spray condensern• multiphase tankn• liquidizern• quick-closing valves.
