Status of Noise Studies in LMFBRs and an Assessment of Their Feasibility in FBTR

The status of reactor noise analysis in LMFBRs is briefly reviewed. The main emphasis of the review has been: (i) to study the various noise sources that are likely to be present during normal operation of the reactor and to find out their likely magnitude and frequency composition, (ii) to find the scope offered by noise studies in the determination of kinetic and dynamic parameters and for surveillance applications and finally (iii) based on the findings of the literature survey and examination of the available the nuclear instrumentation to investigate the feasibility of noise studies in FBTR.
