Progress in research on the effects of sulfur dioxide and nitrogen dioxide on plants is presented. Specific areas of investigation include: effects of NO sub 2 on the phytotoxicity of SO sub 2 ; interactions of air pollutants, plants and plant pathogens; effects of SO sub 2 on plant-insect interactions; mode of action and metabolism of SO sub 2 in plants.
