A computational technique to simulate the fluid dynamics and heat transfer for incompressible flows that are almost three-dimensional is being developed. Based on an extension of P.I. Nakayama's model, the technique employs an extension of the Simplified Marker and Cell (SMAC) technique. The basics of the model are discussed. Calculations of the circulation induced by a hot water heater in a ventilated room are presented to illustrate the characteristics of the technique. (ERA citation 05:020778)
