Sum Rules for Meson and Baryon Production in the Quark Recombination Model

A quark recombination model with quark distributions according to a generalized Kuti-Weisskopf model is used. Mesons are formed by v-s (valence-sea) and s-s recombination, baryons by vvv, vvs, vss and sss recombination. Sum rules for energy momentum conservation, baryon number, valence and sea quarks are shown to constrain the recombination parameters of the model significantly.
