Anomalous Skin Effect in a Plasma Confined by Electric and Magnetic Fields

A study was made of the penetration of an electromagnetic field into a plasma confined by electric and magnetic fields in the presence of a transition layer having a thickness of the order of the electron Larmor radius, in which electric currents that confine the plasma flow and the plasma density and electric and magnetic fields vary. An integrodifferential equation that defines the behavior in the plasma of the electric field of an electromagnetic wave incident on the plasma is obtained. (ERA citation 04:035394)
