Energy Supply Strategy: Getting Technology Commercialized, Shale Oil and Enhanced Oil Recovery

Purpose is to identify factors inhibiting the near-term investment of industrial funds for producing oil from shale and through enhanced oil recovery, and to estimate the investment and production which would result if these deterrents were removed and suitable incentives provided. The barriers are discussed under the following categories: economic, environmental, institutional/regulatory, and technical. (ERA citation 05:011207)
