Effect of the Refuelling Profile on the Performance of Divertor Tokamaks

The influence of the refuelling profile on the plasma density and temperature profiles, and on the neutral particle bombardment of the wall is studied using the WHIST tokamak simulation code. Edge refuelling has beneficial aspects for a divertor tokamak of the size of ASDEX or PDX, but central refuelling appears to be better for a reactor size plasma. (Atomindex citation 10:481183)
