Synthesis of New Functionalized Fluorocarbon Polymers for Use as Battery Separators and Membranes. Final Report

摘要

Three main synthetic routes were used: oxyfluorination of branched polymers such as poly-4-methylpentene, hydrolysis of perfluorinated pendant polyesters, and direct fluorination of polyester and anhydride hydrocarbon. All 3 routes have been highly successful. Film-forming polymer mixtures have been designed which permit independent control of the cross-link density and the concentration of ionizable groups.
