Study of Relativistic Electron BEAMS Generated by a Foilless Diode

摘要

Preliminary results of a numerical and analytical study of foilless diodes are presented. The work produced an electron emission algorithm for the particle-in-cell simulation code CCUBE. Diode performance was studied as a function of applied magnetic field strength and simple geometry changes. Annular electron beams with an energy of 5 MeV appear obtainable with densities exceeding 10 exp 14 cm exp -3 . 8 figures. (ERA citation 04:035070)
