This report covers the process engineering design and the project engineer¬ing design of the Commercial Plant. The Commercial Plant consists of eight process units, five by-product recovery units, and the requisite off-site facilities. The process units consist of Coal and Flux Handling and Prep¬aration, Air Separation, Gasification (British Gas/Lurgi Slagging Gasifier), Shift Conversion, Gas Cooling, Rectisol, Methanation, and Product Gas Compression and Drying. The by-product recovery units consist of Sulfur Recovery, Slag Handling and Disposal, Gas Liquor Separation, Phenol Extrac¬tion, and Ammonia Recovery.
