摘要

The thermal barrier inside the primary circuit of the direct-cycle, high-temperature gas-cooled reactor-gas turbine (HTGR-GT) may experience rapid depressurization transients. Turbine rotor failure induces the most severe pressure transient. To determine how rotor failure affects the design adequacy of the thermal barrier, the authors experimentally examined the venting characteristics of the fibrous insulation. This paper theoretically develops a simulation technique and correlates the analytical results with test data. (ERA citation 06:009161)
