The portable High-Level Neutron Coincidence Counter is used in the active mode with the addition of AmLi neutron sources to assay the exp 235 U content of highly enriched metal pieces or buttons. It is concluded that the portable instrument is a practical instrument for assaying uranium metal buttons with masses in the range 1.5 to 4 kg. (ERA citation 06:004601)
