Radial Extent of alpha Particle Orbits in the Reversed Field Pinch

The radial extent of 3.5 MeV alpha -particles in a straight cylinder reversed field pinch with Bessel function model field profiles is computed. It is found that an axial current of 1 MA confines all such particles born at a radius less than 0.7 a where a is the wall radius. (ERA citation 05:037397)
