Design, Construction and Evaluation of Two Large Photovoltaic Power Systems

A description and comparison of two large photovoltaic electric power systems is presented. The smaller system is designed for economic viability in the near future and provides 70 to 90 percent of the electric requirements for its prime load, a daytime AM radio station. The second system is a stand-alone power system suitable for a remote residential and light industrial community. No electric utility grid is present at this location so the management of a backup Diesel generator is also required. (ERA citation 05:022018)
