Mechanized Supports in Full-Face Cutting in West German Coal Mining

The various types of support possible are described as well as the available types of auxiliary systems and equipment. Concrete supports are more economical than steel ring supports. The possibility of working through faults with full-thickness cutters is investigated. (ERA citation 08:013792)
