摘要

The aim of the present work is to determine the G value of a standard ferrous sulphate solution for neutrons with mean energies of 3 MeV and 14 MeV. The number of the transformed Fe ions is evaluated by means of a spectrophotometrical procedure and the absorbed energy is determined by applying the ionometrical method. Special attention is paid to the calculation of the mean total dose in the irradiated sample taking radiation attenuation into account. For this purpose the spatial distribution of absorbed energy within the probe is determined. Further, it is investigated how the fraction of the gamma component in the total absorbed dose varies in the sample, in order to evaluate its mean value, which is needed for the final determination of the G value for the neutron component.
