摘要

This volume generalizes the multiple-source plume model to treat drift deposition as well. The basic ideas of drift modeling developed for single sources are the basis for the treatment of drift in this multiple-tower model. The treatment of droplet breakaway and the treatment of deposition of drift are easily generalized from single-source concepts. The model is tested with five sets of field data from the Pittsburg, California mechanical-draft cooling towers (MDCTs). The data are the best available for multiple-sources yet these data have several weaknesses. In four of the five data surveys used to test the model, the model predicts sodium deposition rate within a factor of 3 at 50% of all ground samplers. Work continues to determine those conditions under which further simplifying assumptions in the theory may be justified. (ERA citation 06:012742)
