Recommended Procurement Guidelines for Pulverizers in Large Steam-Generating Units

This guidelines document was written to assist both the architect-engineers and utilities in the design, evaluation, specification, procurement, and acceptance testing of pulverizes. The study is particularly applicable to procuring large scale pulverizes for use in a number of applications. The bowl, MPS roll and ring, MB-F roll and ring, and ball-tube mills are the pulverize designs considered in this report.nPerformance guarantees and operational requirements have been written in pro forma language for specification provision. Technical data sheets have been prepared for the assessment and evaluation of vendor proposals. In this regard, pulverize operational conditions from turndown to rated capacity, design and construction, opera tional controls and instrumentation, and maintainability are included in the tech nical scope.
