摘要

The objective of this project was to develop a quantitative model for evaluating the production and financial impact of various mining equipment types and methodologies. The Advanced Development Analysis Model (ADAM/1) was developed, tested, and utilized to study the results of applying existing technology and advanced technology to various mining scenarios. Six scenarios were selected to represent areas and conditions where coal would be mined in the 1980's. The equipment types and methodologies selected for existing technology are consistent with current practices, while those selected for advanced technology reflect current thinking about technology available in the 1980's. The utility of the ADAM/1 model was demonstrated and validated. The results of the study demonstrate the potential of advanced development equipment for increasing the production capacity of a mine per dollar invested, improving productivity, and achieving returns on investment which are reasonably close to those attained with current technology.
