Variational Calculation of the Meson Spectrum and Relativistic Corrections

In this paper the variational method with Coulomb test functions is applied to the spectrum of the heavier quarkonium states. In particular the influence of relativistic corrections to the kinetic energy is investigated. It is found that perturbation theory overestimates these corrections. (Atomindex citation 13:655290)
