Initial Experience and Preliminary Results: Solar Collector Materials Exposure to the IPH Site Environment

A test program to evaluate the influence of the industrial plant site environment upon the performance characteristics of solar collector reflector and receiver materials is being conducted at Industrial Process Heat solar project sites. This program has demonstrated that the industrial environment offers a variety of sources that can affect the optical characteristics of reflectors and receivers through the mechanisms of soiling and corrosion.
