The ability of sulfur dioxide to form complexes with a wide variety of partner molecules, x, was investigated. Using supersonic molecular beam nozzle expansions, eighteen different SO sub 2 .X species were generated and characterized. Factors affecting SO sub 2 .X bond formation were identified.
