Socio-economic factors related to the proposed siting of a 15,000 MW, twelve-unit nuclear energy center in Anderson County, South Carolina are presented. Topics include: existing socio-economic conditions in Anderson County, Hart County, and Oconee County; nuclear energy center characteristics; anticipated demographic and economic impacts of the nuclear energy center; and actions necessary to mitigate potential impacts.
