摘要

Slow recirculating flows of suspensions of small solid particles contained in rectangular enclosures are dealt with. The pertinent equations follow the model of Saffman and Drew for small density differences between the continuum and the dispersed phase. Analytical and numerical solutions are obtained in two situations, i.e. the natural convection between two isothermal vertical walls and the recirculation induced by a sliding plate.
