Direct and Indirect Energy Requirements of the New Zealand Economy: An Energy Analysis of the 1971-72 Inter-Industry Survey

Available tabulations are presented of the direct and indirect energy coefficients of output of each of the 130 sectors of the New Zealand economy included in the Inter-Industry Study, as the coal, oil, electricity, gas, and total components. Energy associated with gross fixed capital formation and the import of goods and services are separately tabulated. The theory of input-output analysis is briefly described and the methodology of evaluating energy coefficients from the published financial data is also described. (ERA citation 07:047163)
