Low energy theorems for electromagnetism are on the one hand extended to recover also the amplitude for quadrupole radiation and on the other extended to gravitation to derive the amplitude for gravitational radiation and consequently the classical energy loss formula for a system of particles interacting under the influence of an arbitrary spherically symmetric potential.
