Optimal Timing of Investments for Industrial Energy Conservation

A brief presentation is made of the present methods of analyzing investments in energy conservation and their weaknesses in the present context. Methods are proposed whereby uncertainty could be taken into account in these techniques. The deterministic and stochastic models are presented; results regarding optimal investment timing are derived; and the behavior of the decision rules are investigated.
